I find Sonic's staying power super impressive. I last interacted with these games in the Wii era. I heard the new Boost titles are good. I will get them eventually. mgs4's fire is mgs3's fire. it's the same tech/the same particles/the same animation. the difference? mgs3's fire looks AMAZING while mgs4's looks pretty mid sometimes. the reason? alpha blending. mgs3's fire is alpha blended to particularly good effect. mgs4's is not. and the REASON there? overdraw performance cost. the ps2 was particularly good at doing alpha blending fast. hell, the console was built around the idea. alpha blending overdraw was kind of a no no on 7th gen consoles for the...
